We departed from KLIA airport on 9 November, 2 days earlier from the wedding days (YES the wedding was about 4 days consecutively okay! I still can feel the strenuous days of struggling the best preparations for the wedding and dramas behind the scenes hihi).

Right after Weng engagement day in February, we bought flight tickets (MAS) KL-Sandakan but sadly in June, Mas airlines sent me email notification that our flight will be transited at Kota Kinabalu for almost 3 hours..demmm..

Stress kan! Nothing much here, I just wanna share our pictures all the way from KL- KK-SKN..Enjoy.. ;)

GENTING GATEAWAY WITH BEST BUDDIES (MARESMAWI CLASS 2000)

This entry is a memoir of my happy time with best buddies from MRSM Langkawi class 2000 or better known as AJK Gilakosa..wahaha..why does it call as gilakosa? Haha..ever since we graduated from maktab, never that we had a big event that could gather all of us..some gatherings held in KL, usually yang can commit just those who stay around here..yang northern and southern Malaysia mmg tak dapat join..kesian kan?..So with this crazy but yet brilliant initiative lead by Assan, (assan ko mmg gila kosa..hahaha) so we decided to create a group which is voluntarily appointing ourselves as the highest community board..Kami mampu kerana kami gila kosa!!..hahaha..If nobody moves, so nothing!

We went to Genting, about 5 families we were: me and family, hafiz rahimi and family, assan and family, tina khamis and family (although Diyana Kamaruddin tak menginap di sana, sempoila dia sanggup naik Genting jugakk)..Here we miss Wan Mai's family yang join event gathering at PD last March..End of this year kami akan organise another small gathering at Penang and in May 2012, big event to be held at Cherating, Kuantan..insyaAllah..this is the biggest plan and we are working on it now..;)

Have you heard news or seen video about cable car Genting yang jatuh recently but not broadcast-ed in media?Masa kitaorg pergi tu lah cable car jatuh..nasib baik kitaorg tak naik cable car kan! Our initial plan was nak naik cable car tahu! Alhamdulillah selamat ;). Bad weather I must say! The day we arrived, it was very cloudy and wet. So we didn't have chance to play outdoor games. Luckily our tickets were for indoor activities! So main je apa ada sampai muntah hihi..

We had fun time together ! Sophie was super excited at Genting and right after we arrived home, she asked us to go Genting some more. Okaylah malas nk cerita banyak, mari layan gambar-gambar kami...The total pictures are about hundreds..hihi so i just uploaded some of them only.. ;)..do enjoy!

Sitti Halifah and Razi Imran engagement ~ 1.10.11

We were unable to go back to Sandakan on their blissful engagement day since the date 1/10/2011 was too close to Weng's wedding which was held on 11/11/2011..thinking twice..banyak kali kami balik Sandakan in this 2011 kot.....budget burst T_T

All preparations done by my mother in law with some helping hands from other relatives. So stunning pics you guys will see kejab lagi.. The kurung moden itself cost thousands bucks although Pam hasn't wear it just yet, her design was stolen by other people yang tiru sebijik2 kaler and pattern..hmm...

Since we couldn't join the ceremony, me and lil Soph prepared some goodie bags for Pampam until 2.00 am in the morning. Den's sweet friend Aju helped to tie few ribbons to ease my works! Sophie was proud as she could do that for her mommy and daddy although she was not presently there...at least we could contribute something!..they like that .. Alhamdulillah..enjoy the pic.. ;)

S.O.P.H.I.E Turns 3!

Our eldest girl, Sophie celebrated her 3rd birthday thrice this year! All simple occasions with four of us, with her school mates and the rest of our family.

And a week before her birthday came, she kept asking “today my special day, is it?" which I had to reply “not today darling but this Friday!"... She would ask me every time she opened her eyes early in the morning accompanied us sahur during Ramadan..Her favourite birthday song is from Playhouse Disney (now changed to Disney Junior) and we both sang the song together the whole week (consecutively) before the birthday! Sophie seemed thrilled to make merry of her anniversary!

However, a day before we had to make an advance celebration since babah worked at night. We had iftar at Secret recipe and bought her a small lava cupcake which she chose herself..;) And the Friday 26th itself, sharp at 12.00 midnight we sang a happy birthday song while she was sleeping safe and sound.

On her birthday, I made birthday packs for her schoolmates as it tends to be her tradition to have her birthday celebrated at school and Sophie personally requested a Mickey Mouse tag! While busy working at, I attempted to create her birthday tag approximately 25 pieces.

Having iftar at home, brother in law, Mirwan bought her a chocolate indulgence cake! She was delighted, hidung sedikit kembang whenever all of us sang her the birthday song!

This year no big party, just family occasions! Happy 3rd birthday Marsya Sophie Irdina we love you truly, deeply and endlessly. Grow up sayang and be a good girl like you always be.

Special dedicated to Marsha Collier, thanks so much for your warm and friendly wishes to my dearest daughter in my Fb and blog. Really appreciate your time dropping by and leave those special thoughts. That’s really awesome effort!

Chebil by Ompi~la

Short conversation between me and lil Soph after Sahur, in the mid month of Ramadhan ...

Mama: I want to call Ayaana...Kayana..Kayaana ..Kayaana.
Sophie: I want to call si Chebil Chebil...si Chebil Chebil.
Mama: Why you want to call her Chebil?
Sophie: Because Ayaana gemuk sangat!
Mama: Oh u mean..chubby? hahahaha..ok la kita call her Chebil..

Ompi always being so funny when she calls her sister. Like we always call her with several pet names featured in here , she has also trying to adapt the 'craziness' by calling her sister with some funny names but yet so cute. The first name is " Ayaana Kandong" haha..then now Chebil! Both family sides laughing when I told them this name, but guess what they have started calling Ayaana " si Chebil" too. hiks~

Now we have Ompi and Chebil.. Loving you darlings!

What Does AYAANA-SYBILLA-MAUREEN mean...

Well as we have another baby girl, searching a name (or names) was not that easy! Seriously! Babah always being so funny about giving our baby’s name, when I asked for suggestion, he would come out with classic Malay names like: tipah, kiah, senah etc and if boy’s name: Jenal, Karim and etc ; I knew he meant to tease me! That was the reason why I malas nak tanya dia lelebih, the more I ask, the more he made fun of it! No joke Babah! (if you read this ;p). Otherwise he would ask me to list down several names for our selection.

At first, we planned to make a short and simple name for our second daughter then our plan B was to name her with two words. However, seeing that Ompi’s name has 3 separate words, thus we decided the baby to have as many words as her sister has! Fair and square so in future there will be no question such as:-

“ Mama, kenapa nama I sikit, nama Sophie banyak?”

“ Alah, tak aci nama Sophie panjang, nama I sikit”

“ Kenapa mama tak letak my name panjang-panjang like Sophie?”

…Yeah, I memang nak avoid these kind of questions sebab nanti I tatau nak jawab apa noks! Unless this type of question "Mama, kenapa nama kitaorg panjang sangat?" which I can straightaway answer : To be fair and square and to match the prettiness in you! ;)

My search began when I was nearly reach 5 months of pregnancy right after we knew the gender. I asked pak cik google and found this beautiful name : Ayaana and suggested this to Babah. As he agreed, I told Sophie the inside tummy’s name is Ayaana and she started calling the baby Ayaana and my rest of family following it. Few days later I discovered ‘Maureen’ is such a gorgeous name, no meaning in Arabic Language but me like it! So, this is the plan B name: Ayaana Maureen bt Ahmad Salihen!

Since finally we decided to make the name as long as Sophie has, to fulfill these intention: the fairness and square-ness , I actively googling more names and found this : Sybilla..you know, like princess Sybilla in “Kingdom of Heaven” and I be fond of this name very -very mucha! Finally, the name was added in the middle of other names and be a medley like these: Ayaana Sybilla Maureen!

Let's digging the meaning of Ayaana Sybilla Maureen. Jom gali..

Ayaana: It has many meanings in Arabic, Hindi, Native American, Afrikaans, Hebrew, Japanese, Sanskrit, In Arabic Ayaana is originated from word 'Ayaan which means some one who is fortunate. The more we call her Ayaana, the luckier she will be! So if I marah..I wouldn't say "Ish budak bertuah ni" because I can simply say " Ish Ayaana ni" hehehe..It means beautiful flower blossoms (oh patutlah Ayaana mama chubby banget) flowering forever in Afrikaans and also mean innocent in Hindi. Hebrew interprets Ayaana as :"she answers"..well answer what? May she is the answer for everything you ask, hopefully for the good things! This name is internationally used and we prioritize Arabic spelling to preserve its meaning..and the name is spelled Ayaana..;)

Sybilla: it brings the meaning of prophetess and Oracle. Need I explain more? That means just perfect!

Maureen: As I work with Aussies, I always meet this name, Maureen. It has no particular meaning in Arabic but for Irish, it does mean " Star of the Sea". Simply adorable!

Ayaana Sybilla Maureen may you grow up menjadi anak yang baik, taat pada mama babahmu dan kakakmu, sayang keluarga kamu, bijak dan cantik seperti diri kamu sendiri. We love you endlessly, Chebil.

2011 Raya Shopping Spree

Before I started work on 1/8, we had shopping spree for 3 days consecutively..2 days straight at One Utama and another day Sunway Pyramid (just for shoes) ..Gile kan? So now, baju raya for both girls are ready except for me and babah..duhhh..

Total expenses almost RM 1000 just for the kids. Mahalnya harga baju kanak kanak sekarang.. kalau nk yang murah boleh ja sambar KIKO, Kiki Lala and etc, but Babah said baju brand itu untuk pakai di rumah saja..apekah?? Anyway because he offered the money, like a pro, I bought those dresses, shoes and accessories for my babies..;)

Thanks to Mirwan (brother in law) because he sponsored a very exclusive baju kurung for Sophie. He bought that in Vietnam during his "Masjid ke Masjid" assignment. The program is now airing in TV3. Really pretty outfit penuh dengan labuci..la la la ..sangat suka. My first intention was to have a purplecious theme for our family but then changed to pink kaler because of baju kurung Sophie! Kelassss..

Ayaana..if you could read this..

I'm in the mood of activating my blogging skill. After some time been hibernated, I would like to pursue more efforts to carry out my blog diaries.

"Inside tummy marah tak agak agak kalo dia tahu mama baru nk update progress during my pregnancy carrying her in the womb?

No worries my little dear, mama still remember whatever happens during these 7 months carrying you. Mama still keeps all the scan pictures ; Those small pictures (when you looked like a jelly bean) until you become a beautiful baby inside.

Inside tummy already has pretty names : ASM (so it will still be 3 separate names, like kakak Sophie has).’ Inside tummy’ is a pet name given by kakak sophie when she first followed mama and babah to check up. Since then, kakak sophie always ask about you..and kakak sophie would be the most excited person whenever times come for the monthly check up.

And now that you already have beautiful names, ASM, we have started calling you with your names. You tend to agree as you will kick mama’s belly whenever we call u ASM..or just A or M..;0"

That is my draft which I kept for post. I was unable to post the entry as I thought some scan pictures of Ayaana should come out with it. Everybody around me knew that I was super sluggish, super wishy-washy, super stress and super tired during my second pregnancy, and perhaps you guys also aware that I hardly update my blog. I was super lazy to scan/snap my scan pictures like I did for Ompi (the first pregnancy story).

I afraid when they both grow up, Ayaana will merajuk since no update on my pregnancy progress while carrying her. Compare to Sophie, she has something that she can read about. (Well, don’t worry Ayaana, mama keeps all memories in my blog draft). Maybe, I should take some time to compile all stories and make it a long pregnancy journey, with the bittersweet experiences I have while Ayaana was still called inside tummy.

Majlis Aqiqah,Bercukur Jambul dan Berendoi Ayaana Sybilla Maureen

Venue: Taman Putri Indah Sandakan Sabah

Theme: English Garden

Ayaana was 47 days old at the day we held Aqiqah in my in Law house in Sandakan. We had various theme colours: white, pink, cream and peach, although the initial plan was to have only cream and white. Anyway still those calours are pastels, and I’m lovin it.

Since I hadn’t blog for quite some time, my mind kinda blank . Perhaps THE BEST WAY to begin stimulate my brain is; I upload the picture and write stories about it. Well, this is simply straightforward.

The goat for Aqiqah, slaughtered and freshly cooked (mutton curry) on the same day. Although I had just finished confinement, but still many things I got to avoid and mutton is part of it. Too bad. (-_-)

I wish Sandakan has a place where we can rent a cradle for Aqiqah but sadly no. So here I got to show my talent and creativity decorating a baby crib. This baby crib just like a play pan which we can swing it. My other designs can be seen in previous entry here: Thanks to mak cik Dayang for helping me doing the organza scallops. As far as I can remember, I spent about 3 hours doing this...whewwwww

I super like this take out box! We bought from Ole-Ole manis, and Kak Weng helped me to made order and purchased these boxes a week before the ceremony. For the deco, I bought a vantage roses design ribbons and off pink ribbons for the bows and just sticking Ayaana's name tag. Each box contained an egg, some traditional home made kueh (made by Inak: my grandmother in law). Many thanks to our relatives for their help as me couldn't handle doing the deco alone.

For our kid guests, we simply prepared a “happy sweets bag". We put those cutie sweets and balloons in also a vantage design plastic bag - well and perfect to match with takeout box deco. While I was busy preparing this happy bag, Sophie attempted to chomp the panda lollypop with her hand grabbing it and looking at my face with an expression "hope-mama-doesn't-realize". Well my girl, I saw you and I knew! Indeed, I didn't like her to have sweets before sleep, but looking at her "I- really- want- that- panda- lollypop- please" face, finally I surrendered! The consequence was, she didn't sleep till 2.00 am and I got a pair of panda eyes the next morning! (T_T)

A pack of kurma (dates) for our guests. Other than take out box and happy bags, there were also some white vantage paper bag to be given to 14 elder guests who did the hair cut and 'berendoi'. In each bag contained, kain sarong (for woman) , kain pelikat ( for man), some traditional home made kueh, egg, and those pack of dates. However, I forgot to snap the picture as I was busy nursing Ayaana and meanwhile preparing the things. My first plan was to tie the container with a vantage ribbons but I didn't have enough time to initiate it. So, I made myself believe and agree with less is more concept...; P

There, my little pumpkin poses after the grooming. Thanks babah, for the Lovely Lace English gown .To matching her lace gown, I bought a lace headband (per meter just RM2.50, cheap..!) and sewed it with love all by myself. It was such a satisfactory feeling looking my baby wearing it. (^_^). You, a mom know it. Maybe not that obvious in this picture, Ayaana was wearing a pair of classic gold hand bracelet. Thanks a zillion to Tok Mummy and Tok Daddy for the gift. Oh ya at that age, Ayaana weighed 5kg plus- my breast milk really boosts her body growth! hai la Ayaana si bamok bamok..

**Maaf gambar cap hayam**. The ceremony started around 9.30 am in the morning. The first event was berzanji and bercukur jambul. Our house was full with guests mostly attended by my in law relatives. Ayaana dozed off all the way during the event. hihi.. Don't get shock looking at baju melayu babah not matching our event theme konon English Garden as portrayed by the deco crib. Blame me. He had to wear gold colour as I had wrongly bought and picked my baju kurung colour. Mine has peach, yellow and pink - so rojak! Thus we decided to add golden shine in the theme...hihi

After bercukur jambul , then it came time to "berendoi ". Kain sarong has something symbolic which I couldn't remember what's that for, but anyway this time Ayaana was being cuddled up and passed from one to another with kain sarong. Each person got to keep the sarong they used to cuddle my baby. Ehmmm..and the botol air...not sure what for.hihi

Tok mummy and Tok Daddy were the backbones of the event. many many thanks mama and bapak for all the supports.;). There is happy family, the four of us. I look tan because I used wrong loose powder. It made me look hideous- a bit. Sighs

The first picture, Ompi and Aira wearing English cotton gown. Very adorable. These two cousins are truly partner in crime while they playing must have someone happy someone cries. Ha ha. Aira pronounced my name Mama Yim..oh..I miss Aira already..T_T.. Anyway, can you see Ompi is growing up and big now? The relatives are all around 6-8 years and she is only 3 years (will become 3 this August 26th) but they keeping up very very well. (^_^)...

hehehe.. Ayaana's funny and sulking face expressions never fail make us laughing. Kerooo mata Ayaana seeing too many people lifting her up, kissing her cheeks, and taking her pictures. Me and Ayaana has a similarity, we both suka teleng kepala ke tepi when it comes to pose for pictures and this habit is done spontaneously.

Alhamdulillah everything went so smooth. ahhh..Now I miss my time in Sandakan already...

(-_-).. Special dedication to: Kak lang, Abg Man and Abg Atto..thank you so much for your helping hands.

Some people asked me, why do we have to hold all ceremonies (related to us (spouse) and kids) in Sandakan but not at my hometown, langkawi. My answer is easy: well, my kids are Banjarians following their father’s blood and myself follow my husband's will. It doesn't mean I dishonour my family side. I love both. I have perfect families love. I am fortunate. Thank you Allah.

Ayaana Sybilla Maureen - Another Chapter of Life

Alhamdulillah..

After a while running away from cyber space..

After a while carrying beautiful baby inside my womb.

After a while been so hectic with life and works..

And time flies so fast, on 8th June 2011 at my 38 weeks pregnancy, I had safely delivered my second daughter.. Ayaana Sybilla Maureen bt. Ahmad Salihen at Tropicana Medical Centre, Kota Damansara, PJ Selangor..She weighed 3.01kg and height 47cm..

Too many things to share especially the check up moments from 1st month till end which I had ~~overlooked~~ no time to go halves with the readers termasuklah keletah dan perangai Sophie..our vacations, celebrations and etc..The backdated entries are still the entries..rite?

Second Admission at Pantai Hosp, Bangsar

Hope it's not too late to wish Chinese friends: Happy new Year..Gong Xi Fatt Choy!!

Our February 2011, started with lil' chaos when Sophie admitted again at Pantai Hospital Bangsar around 4.00am in the morning! It was on 7/2/2011, when she couldn't sleep and the wheezing sound was so loud. She woke up and said "Sofi not well" followed with bad coughing. We immediately brought her to family clinic, took nebuliser then as I expected, the neb couldn't help much to reduce wheezing sound!

Again, the sickness was due to asthma (acute bronchitis). This time, she was treated by new paediatrician, Prof Dr Iyngkaran since Dr. Atikah was on leave.

Dr advised her condition was not that bad but since the attack comes quite sudden nowadays, the final solution is to give her pair of inhalers containing Ventolin, Pulmicort and a chamber spacer. The Ventolin med has to be taken 4 times a day with 2 puffs for each session and Pulmicort twice a day with single puff . This is the last resort we have had to agree, instead of rushing to the nearby clinic and get her nebulised.

Poor little Sophie! once I remembered, there were few things triggered the attack but it's best not to state in here. I hate when me and husband have particularly taking care and avoiding the triggers factors, unfortunately there are several 'environment-constraint'! sigh~

Anyway, she's getting better now and was admitted for only 2 days..;)..Alhamdulillah

Ompi like she is, whenever sick, whenever bad mood, posing is still posing..Here the picasa...

Below conversation happened back in the New Year 2011 eve night. lepas balik jer dari Giant tgk fireworks (tak koser merempuh jam ke The Curve), Babah straightaway went to work , while me and Ompi spent our night at my uncle's house, accompanied by my sister in law~ Pampam. Don’t ask for the New Year night pictures, because we forgot to bring camera! (offtopic: malas nk buat entry new year: that night kitaorg bertiga pergi karaoke then pergi Giant tgk fireworks..itu saje..)

Back to my story…

It was almost 2.00 am but my kiddo won’t sleep and asked me to play her Barney CD. ~~Still being enthusiastic selepas tgk fireworks, mungkin~~?? Sophie was so deeply paying attention on the lappy, sang the B.I.N.G.O song and followed the dance moves like Barney and his friends did. Worst part, she did the boogie-boogie in front of TV, and made us hard watching the screen!

From there, below conversation began...

Mama: Sophie, can u sit down?. Sit like Barney does? Mama and mummy nk watch tv.

Sophie: No.No..Barney cannot sit down? (with serious face and yet the her legs still moving)

Mama: Why Barney cannot sit down? (me asking curiously)

Sophie: bekossss..Barney got tailllllllll!

Alamak kena sebijik..!! ye tak ye kan? Ha ha ha

Once Babah arrived, I ask him.."Babah, u rasa kan, Barney boleh sit down tak?" and my husband took few seconds to think before he asked me back "Kenapa ek? tak pernah plak tgk Barney duduk" he replied in wonder, not with a YES or NO answer. Then I told him the story that made him laughed loudly!

Sungguh comel conversation di atas and saya ingin mengabadikan kenangan tersebut dalam blog ini. See, our kid is so observant, vigilant and concern about things happen within her surroundings but us (myself obviously) are still being neglected and not so alert meneliti perkara di sekeliling!

One day, I came back from work with few fancy scarves (the scarf that simply transform you into Yuna Zarai wannabe!)…Since this kinda scarf is the latest trend in the market, I also wanna try it! Ape? Mak pon mampu bergaya cam Yunaaa kau tau!..kau mampo? haha

Hahahaha..Too early to tell her the importance of wearing scarf! She just 2 years old! When the time comes, sure i will but I'm not gonna force her to be such obedient! She has to learn by herself and be sincere about covering her hair! No point forcing your kid to be something that she's not ready to or be sincere to. As a mother, I always pray to Allah.May He shows the best path for my kids..

While uploading these, Sophie shouted “ Oh my god! Sophie pakai tudung..so chomel lah!” once she saw her pictures in my lappy!

Wheww...so many! What so many? So many postings that I have to put inside this blog. Those all things happened back in 2010 which I didn't get ample time to sit and type and wrote about them..

ok..I have about 8 backdated ENTRIES that I'm going to post them soon...All pictures are ready in the camera and waiting to be uploaded. So you may read our Raya Haji celebration *mainly to show off my cooking expertise..;p OMG that was so long time ago!!)..My Company annual dinner back in November 26th *which i look superflous chubby!*..Ompi enena and my scarf *candid pictures.yes I have to include some pictures of her willingness wearing scarf!*. Sophie attending her friends’ birthday parties (Adam and Zara Sacha). Sophie's one fine swimming day, babah's Futsal tournament and Sophie and cousins...lastly of course the development progress of our beloved Inside Tummy!!

I owe myself those stories that should be updated earlier than now. I owe my readers few stories that I wish to share with.*so perasan..adekah reader ko?*...and too bad...I feel guilty of not being able to be persistently keep posted about baby inside tummy.

Being pregnant while your company was organizing an annual dinner, I had no idea what to wear since my body was bloated (although I was only 2 mos pregnant). Thank you to may best pals in office,Aju and kak ida who came out with Arabian style..**sumpah tak masquerade langsung at first**. To make ourselves look like having a mask as masquerade itself means, we bought a meter of black net chiffon, cut it into pieces, and sew into square shape to cover half of the face. Yes, purdah is the word!

We took 2 hours to prepare ourselves in the costume. Well not really a costume as for myself, I borrow a caftan from weng and wear a long inner inside. Black always has been the best color to hide your real body figure, ahaks! So I chose black color and brown scarf. Coincidentally, my pals had same taste. So that night, at first we arrived to party, a naughty question bombarded by my male colleague ...” Oh God..you are not terrorist..aren’t you?”..Yeah he was joking..but how dare! ;p

I put makeup to Aju, myself and kak ida…simply nice.. here the looks at the party!!

1. Adam, 5^th Birthday celebration

Mummy: Nana (husband ex college mate)

This year visit is to repay our absence last year. Since last year we couldn’t make it (ompi got fever), so the mummy~ nana reminded me many time to present ourselves at the party! Hehe.. we went to McD Sri Damansara on 5/12/2010.

So many kids were there, mostly nana’s friends and family. Oh ya did I mention earlier that Nana is also our neighbor who live just down 2 levels from my uncle’s house? Organising a birthday party at McD pretty enjoyable as they have prepared everything to us, just sediakan cash money!

Sophie was so excited looking at those kids but still she insisted to mingle around with them. Although they had lots of games, she didn’t join and just looking at other kids while her mouth kept on licking the vanilla ice cream! Anyway, she managed to get pressie for the quick/answer game. Semuanya sebab babah ada barang-barang yang perlu dicari, and furthermore the emcee was sitting near to us!

Mummy hasmyra, she is such a creative mind mummy I ever know! She had preplanned the birthday party I think somewhere in mid 2010. She came out with the pool splash party idea and the theme was strawberry shortcake mascot!!

I sew a skirt for Sophie to match it with her brown sleeveless shirt. It is a 100% handmade **serious proud looking at my girl wearing it! **. My demand lil girl, requested to wear her rangooli bracelets! When we talk about swimming, Sophie would ran to her drawer and get her swim suit! She was super excited to attend the party ( as I kept telling her we’ll be going to Zara party..boleh swim and etc) and so was I.

Tidak balik ke kampung! Jadi sambut sahajalah raya haji di KL...

As usual, I’ll be the chef of the day for any celebration that requires foods to be served for our guests! Who else can be? hehe..so hantam sahajalah memasak di dapur..

Not like last year we went shopping last minutely...this year we went to buy ingredient stuffs 2 days before raya. So we managed to buy some chickens (usually mmg habis stok kalau beli lambat),ketupat nasi + etc..

The menu were: chicken rice garengss (ini adalah garing!) + rendang daging + ketupat nasi +ketupat pulut **haruslah instant!**+ kuah kacang (menu wajib untuk suami terchenta!)..and choc moist cake!! Just perfect untuk anak perantauan di kota!

Having a girl plus another one coming in (if the baby is also girl), I am extremely worried with hearing and seeing numerous news about child molestation, sexual abuse and so on. Those stories really make me scare moreover living in KL, anything can happen just in a blink of an eye.

I had a creepy scene during my outing time with lil Ompi. I was holding Ompi’s hand to a baby shop in Sunway Giza and suddenly came a stranger out of nowhere and he walked towards my kid and touched her arm. I was shocked and yet furious looking at this man and immediately I pulled my child hands near to my side. The man walked away like nothing happen and I did nothing although I felt like yelling at him and slap his face as many times as I could.

Back home, after taking shower I straightaway taught Sophie that nobody can touch her body and private part.

Mama: Nobody can touch here ok...Only mama can...ok?

Sophie: Babah? (Asking with her frowning face)

Mama: No...Can not!

Sophie: Ibu, uncle den, uncle wan, ticher..blah blah blah ? (As usual, she has a lot words to come out with)...

Mama: Also cannot! No one except mama. Say NO loudly...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…Cannottttttt!!

Sophie: Ok...Don’t touch! NOoooooooooooooooooo…kenotttttttttt (screaming with her loud voice)

One day, Babah told me while he was trying to wash her poo poo..Sophie said “Babah don’t touch here ok?”...ha-ha...I had to explain to my husband what I’ve taught her. And now every time my in laws look after her, she would remind everybody not to touch her private part!

Since she is too young to understand complicated words, I am waiting the times she turns 3-4 years old so that I could educate her about the bad and the good touches come from adults. For sure there are more safety guidelines I want to let her know. Prevention is always better than sorrow! Once happened, time will not turn back.

Readers, don’t let your child be in vulnerable. If we never teach them and prepare them for situations like these, they think that adults are allowed to do such action for a reason "it's ok..they love me".

Nowadays, I feel so damn lazy..the proof is as you may have seen my poor blog updates! Less in October ..*shame-shame*

I tend to relax, laid back and sleep..until one day I noticed..my period been missed for 8 days!! During office day, after had a chit chat with my colleague Pam, who urged me to do the UPT..taraaaa..it was positive on the 25/10/10!!

I did twice UPT as I couldn't believe the first one shown 2 red lines rapidly right after i dip it in the urine cap! I did that in office toilet after couldn't tahan perasaan ingin tahu sedangkan sudah ada test kit di depan mata! haha.. When it was positive, the first person to know was Pam (since she put her view on me right after i came back from toilet, i was so excited then forgot to keep it exclusive..Thanks Pam for the courage) and the second person was Babah!

That night before sleep, only I could remember my conversation with little Ompi on the other night before UPT was made. She said "baby inside tummy mama" and kiss my tummy many-many times. Not sure whether it was coincidentally she knew or she had sense of it. Only God knows.Ironically now, she would say "NO" if i ask her " do you love the baby"...ada sense of jelousy di sini..

Today dunno why I am so rajin to update my blog haha (so lame)...Okay these are photos taken before the birthday party..The tutu skirt plus that brown sleeveless top bought by Ibu Sophie while she went to Portland, US.

I like that tutu! She looks gorgeous ~~just like her momma.~~

Kononnya, those pictures were taken so that we could print them out and tampal kat wall during birthday in Sandakan. Sadly, everything was messed up. The birthday was not that really a birthday party because it was celebrated during open house and it turned to be moreless chaotic. I didn't really care about presents and gifts, but I did care about what my kid felt on her birthday.

At first I was regret but then tak apalah... though the party wasn't run according to what we had planned, but I am very much thankful to all in law family as they were very helpful and supportive.... it was just the guests which some didn't! No worries darling, you still have few years to go and many birthdays to celebrate soon..;)

Here goes the click-click.. Aiyooo..That was a very hard day to snap her photos. Once turned 2, Sophie becomes 'headstrong' like My YES IS A YES..MY NO IS A NO!! She refused her photos to be taken... luckily there were Kak Weng and Den2 who helped us by playing with her..thus we managed to take those smiley face..Otherwise..jangan harap!

The in laws family said that Sophie typically looks like her babah and I admit because yupp part of her skin, face features ..she does look like her Babah. But sometimes stupido voices whispering " Hello, penat-penat pregnant kott...then beranak, takkan takde rupa aku ??" ~ hehe silly thought does come tp betul soalan sama diulang2 really annoying!! It was vice verse when the comments came from my family, which ~~intimidatingly~~ I would feel bit relief...=P...

Back to Topic

Same goes to other people we know or we never know about: part of them said she looks like me and some said just like her babah. NOW, for me it doesn't matter ANYMORE because, at least she has our looks, right? Then it is confirmed that she is inheriting our DNA genetics ~~+ sort of our habits/perangai ...perhaps?~~.

Most importantly the nurses and my gynea did great job, as they didn't unintentionally exchange our baby to be somebody's else. If you can recall the series Autumn in My Heart ~ likewise.

But I have met some people who still ongoing dissatisfied when other else said

"Your baby resembles your husband/wife looks".

WHY??

All of us have different eyes shapes, different perspective, different glance and different sight! So, you may look at one's appearance differently from others! And to people that want to comment the baby looks, please be cautious, who knows your comment can break one's heart! Jagelah hati org sikit. Otherwise, just say :

Because we have been so attached to her lately, during these public-raya-holiday..Sophie was so happy plus a bit spoiled ..;p

Seeing that she still cries whenever we send her to school, me and babah reminded her every day right after we returned from Sandakan that we will be going to work on Monday 20/9 and she'll be going to school..We'll buy some Raya cookies for her friends and teachers and she should not cry while to school.

The way we fed her mind..

Mama/Babah: Sophie, tomorrow Sophie nk gi school. Don't cry. mama/babah bagi cookies for your friends Maya, Brinna, Azim, Baby Min (sekadar menyebut beberapa nama)and teachers to eat.

Sophie: NO!

Since last Thursday, we kept reminded her the same thing and the ANSWER ALWAYS be: NO! Last Sunday night, my conversation with her really shook up.. nevertheless I was a bit delighted ..

Vomiting, Puke and Throw Up...not a yuch!

Vomiting, puke and throw up..

All those words are same: throwing whatever you have inside your stomach in the sense of falling laid up or feel annoyed with somebody’s act. That’s my definition! What relates to my story is about sickness that can cause such habit. What happens should your baby vomits like a bulimic person? And here goes my story …

Few weeks back, almost every day Sophie would vomit especially during night time with less cough but no fever. First time happened, I was freaking panic gila babeng but when it continuously goes on I kept on wondering~ what went wrong with her?

We sent her to school not like every weekday although we are paying full fee. We just send her start from Wednesday till Friday and only for half day. Babah will fetch Sophie at school around 12.00 pm if he’s working on night shift. Almost every Monday and Tuesday, Sophie stays with her mommy.

She had just completed pneumococcal jab last month. Impossible that she got such infection from nursery as per feedback from her headmistress, none of her friends was having same symptom. We constantly fed her with cough and flu syrup within few series of clinic visits. However those drugs just made symptom became less severe but not fully cure it. She would throw up nearly every–after-dinner.

Last Tuesday, she vomited terribly with some leftovers expelled from her nose. SCARY indeed! I went half day work and took urgent leave and luckily Babah was working on night shift. We brought her to Altaf Clinic at TTDI.

Dr. Altaf told us, Sophie had phlegm and that mucus plugging her chest. Let say we bring her quite late for serious check up ( okay another definition by me: serious means meet the real person/doctor who knows best about such illness, remedies and has better solution..That is pediatrician and not a non specialist GP) there is possibility she could get asthma. Taking gas Nebuliser~ hell no for my baby *mintak simpang* . Many viral syndromes start with a sore throat or cold symptoms, often followed by a cough and usually for small kids, they don’t know how to pull up the phlegm and throw it.

Once accumulated in her chest, she could hardly breathe and the way she could throw phlegm was through vomiting. I asked Dr. Altaf whether that can cause irritation in her stomach area or can cause ulcer or something. Luckily he said it could but not going to be so serious. From that day onwards she has to avoid these triggering factors:

• Soft toys with fur - oh yeahh..I suddenly remember Sheshe cat, Ngaungau cat and Shasha cat she has – Sophie is extremely addicted to C.A.T

• No junk + preservatives food- yeap..recently she consumes quite a lot of ‘sugar candy’.

• No hazardous smoke – whew this part is quite difficult to avoid because even though Babah himself is not a smoker, but people around does. ;(

Apart from that day, she’s no longer sleep with her Sheshe cat. I always tell her:

“ Don’t kiss Sheshe nanti Sophie muntah”
And this smart girl would tell everybody “Sheshe cat..muntah” whenever she met people regardless to strangers. With the way she said it, I knew that she was trying to explain that she’s no longer carrying her Sheshe cat. Few days without Sheshe cat that she can’t live without were pretty hard! Imagine, she woke up and cried “Where cat Sheshe…Where cat Sheshe?” while her eyes still remain closed. Sobs..sobs..As that was a gesture she needed to hug a thing, I put her PIPO (hippo bolster) to comfort her.

Well, last night she vomited again after being so nakal playing around in the house! No cough..no flu..just vomited and no cry or whatever sign of pain. Hmm, is the illness changed to be a habit? Means that her stomach has developed to puke whenever she refuses food-like a bulimic person does? I don’t know…seriously I don’t know!

Oh puhleaseee..I miss my gamok gamok baby.. ;(

I’m back!

What was happening for the last 2 weeks?

- I just got resigned as I’m moving to a new company- I joined my Ansara Langkawi gathering at TGI Friday, The Gardens- Me and Sophie went back to my hometown (Langkawi) as since to clear my balance leaves-We celebrated Rumaisya Milhan hair cut ceremony-I joined new company (actually my former company) as a new executive, meeting new and already-mingled colleagues are pretty awesome!

And those were uncatchable moment in this blog. Wait for the entries soon..;)

It wasn’t a surprise anymore after I had to ask Babah accompany me buying all those “surprise” stuff. What to do? Weekend will always have three of us and I couldn’t escape! Right after shopping, we celebrated Babah’s Day at Kota Damansara, Section 8 garden..Taman Rimba Ria at 6.00 pm!

Orang pergi sana jogging bagai, tetapi kami? Membawa kek, coke, cikedis, junk food dan segala makanan rapu hehehe. Some of the joggers looked at us like we were weirdos. Ermm anyway, it was Father’s day right? So we just ignored the bizarre-face-expression they had.

This is about another series of making photo shoot essentials! Anak mama dah besaq wah…suka gaya-gaya, wah!...Suka kasut tinggi, wah! ...Suka posing , wahhh!..And our Ompila is now getting bigger! Can’t get enough? Me neither!

I got mc last Tuesday...Please don’t misunderstand, not because of World Cup fever! I got real mild fever and headache. Even though it was pretty mild, but I felt very tired, body aches, dizzy, blah blah blah and my sick excuses are everywhere..hehehe..;p. Acthung!

She moved here and there, back and forth with her Ummi’s Charles and Keith wedges, pretended like she was a busy woman with her left hand (she is lefthanded) holding my mobile phone. I heard she said, “Tok Mummy ke?” “Hello” “Bye friends” and other catchy conversation she knew about. Then I decided to make photoshoot since the camera was reachable, just nearby me. Do you ever wonder, conventional ways of making friends are not as advanced as knowing people and find friends online? Simple thought as it is! Nowadays, I have bunch of friends whom I know via Facebook, Friendster, and MySpace. In fact, some of them turn out to be my very close friends that I could share anything with~ secrecy sort of ;). But of course for better relationship, we need couples of real meeting, virtual talk and chit chatting. What’s more we share parallel similarities; addiction to our babies and I can say this is about motherly-associates. Every so often, our major topics revolved around the hits of babies, toddler, kiddies and children (well can you spot the difference?). It really bonds me with my new friends and thanks to the internet telecommunication for such wonderful networking ;)

Through Friendster I knew Ika and her family and this year is our 1st year friendship anniversary. (Well maybe we could celebrate our 1st year friendship anniversary??) . We attended Alya’s birthday last year as strangers but this year we came as their best friends. Although Alya Nadhirah is not my biological daughter, I take her as Sophie’s sister~ like a sibling wannabe. MY BFF Wedding Day..! Selamat Pengantin Baru Tina!

This story begins with the first day we arrived, before checked in the motel, we stayed at Tina’s house. Once we stepped in, Ompi cried “let’s go mama, let’s go” as she thought we would leave her there..huh, still traumatized like her first day in school. Anyway Tina’s family greeted and treated us well, and we were very thankful for that.

Talking about Tina, she is 2 years older than me, but I never call her kakak instead I call her Mok and she calls me Mek..haha..We worked together in the same two companies before she pursues her dream as a teacher while me~ I worked at company where the money offered is so good! ~~Greedy me~~! Other than Sabon and Azua, Tina is among my-colleagues-bestfriend who always there during my ups and downs. She was there when I got dumped by my ex freaky boyfriend, she was pleasure to be my company when I first dating Babah at Kampung Baru before we peeping Mak Nyah at Loring Haji Taib (haha), and she was my bridesmaid too! Thus, paying a visit to Terengganu was not a big deal to us , and I could never reluctant to be her assistant when she needs me to.

After had the jalang-jalang at Kuala Terengganu, that night I did henna on Tina’s hands and feet. Well, it was a very last minute one.. Tina oh Tina, kenapa kau tau bitau awal awal nak buat Henna?..If not, I could find the best design for you. Because it was a last minute plan, so the henna drawings were done like this…

Next morning, I woke up at 6.00 am, ironing the clothes of three of us. Then I went to Tina’s house, we started doing the bridal make up. As I am not professional makeup artist, I have asked Tina many times in our YM conversation-“Are sure you want me to do the makeover?”, once she said yes…I started preparing the makeup theme, and search some youtube tutorials for perfect bridal make up, that would suit her look. The last time I put bridal make up was last year – my sissy’s wedding day. As Tina said she likes my touch, it was an honored when she asked me to do such beau for her! Thanks Tina..

Tina wanted to look as natural as her face can be, so I applied Estee lauder (eyeshadow)+ MAC (blusher)+Maybelline (Foundation) + ST (face powder) + KATE ( eyeliner)+ Maybelline (mascara)…Done. Everything was just perfect except no fake eyelashes because the one that Tina bought had no glue. However, she looked glowy on her solemnization day..Sorry Tina, I just did up to my best level. Hope you like it..;)

We went to Terengganu on 5th June to attend Tina’s wedding. Because she used to be my bridesmaid and that was my payback time and thus I went there as ~ mak andam..Boleh? ~ Tina I’ll post an exclusive entry about your wedding okeh? Now..cerita dulu pasal our trip..Jalang-jalang gi Ganu wehhh

We departed from home at 5.30 in the morning and arrived Terengganu around 11.00 am..Ask me who was the driver? Absolutely my husband BUT he drove only from KL-Maran, then I continued driving from Maran-Marang, then changed the steering wheel back (means he drove from Marang-Kuala Terengganu).Haha, it was the first trip ever that I drove a car for 3 hours! If not because Babah was sleepy (he got back from work at 1.00 am in the morning) I would just sit still ~ like I always do for our long-voyage! Babah said I was as proud as peacock..YES, give me chance to feel like I BOLEH too..please..hahaha.. ~~Okay, enough about the driving thingy!~~

Back to the story, once we arrived, we checked in a motel next to Tina’s house. Everything had to be done a.s.a.p..WHY? Well, we only had weekend for this trip, so after resting for couple of hours then we visited Kuala Terengganu~ the famous Pasar Payang to buy some ‘Terengganu’s handcrafts + foodies’. After that we went to Pantai Pasir Burok (~~why it is called Burok? the beach is clean what!~~) just to let Sophie played around. There were few horses placed aside the beach for pay ride and lucky time for our animal-lover-baby ~ she really enjoyed watching those horses.

That night, I accompanied Tina doing her hand feet henna and then dozed off. Sunday morning, I played my role as Mak Andam (well it was just for solemnization ceremony) and attended her nikah. That afternoon, we started packing things and checked out motel. Sorry Tina, if not because I tendered resignation, I would spend more days in Terengganu. Hence we had to get back to KL as gotta work on Monday.

Before leaving Kuala Terengganu, my BFF Azua who also spent time in Terengganu, brought us to Pantai Kelulut for amigos delicacies ~ Seafood goreng tepung! Deep fried crispy Squids+Shrimps+Mackerel dip with special sauce added with some Satar~perghh, those foodstuffs were really mouth watering! My kiddy kept on wanting coconut..coconut..haha. Azua sorry sebab terpaksa melayan kerenah Ompila..hihi..

Ha..this is my latest niece (my younger sister's daughter), Rumaysha Milhan bt. Mohd Fauzan, born on 26 May 2010, weighed 3.06kg, in Langkawi...She is my parents' seventh granddaughter among their 17 grandchildren!

Coincidentally, all my girls sibling (girl kerrr?) (me, Kak Syida and Ina) put our babies names that ended with sha/sya... See here, Kak syida has Natasha and Nisha, me have Marsya and Ina named their baby Rumaysha ...Haha..we just realised about the similarities once Maysha arrives and thus will let this so called 'tradition' keep on going. Hence, our future baby girl should has this sha/sya within their names. clap clap clap*.

Maysha has her ibu's look and no doubt her abi's look as well. Well blended anak hasil percintaan ini (anak hasil percintan was quoted by my roommate back in UPM time: Athirah Nawawi - pinjam ungkapan ni yer Tirah..). But, when I look at her pictures a bit closer , especially when she sleeps - OMG just like Sophie (namapun cousin kan?) ! S.O C.U.T.E a.n.d a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e! **well can't deny I miss my Kompi's face when she was still a newborn baby!

I haven't met Maysha just yet, only through MMS and email that my youngest brother sent to me. Once I asked Ina, what is -Rumaysha-Milhan- mean? Seperti seorang ustazah adikku bercerita..

" Aku masuk ke syurga dan aku mendengar suara orang berjalan, lalu aku bertanya: Suara apakah ini?" Seorang menjawab, " ini adalah Rumaysha Milhan , Dia adalah ibu Anas bin Malik.

Sophie has lost her appetite (HELP!)

~~Ok. Today let’s make the story short!~~

It’s pretty sad to look my gamok girl slowly becomes skinny and her bones are more visibly seen.

I just don’t know what else to offer. She refused to eat all type of foods that used to be her favourite as well as fruits and become very picky! She rarely had junk food, if has - only some sweets that she only chews for few seconds.

She frequently drinks formula milk and munchs less than a half plate of rice, pasta, mee. Is that normal? The worst, her stools quite watery just like no solid fillers at all.

Does she need extra vitamin to increase her desire for food? Mak penin..perlukah beli appeton lysene? Skot emulsyen? Champs ? Any traditional way instead of giving her those chemicals boosters thingy? huhuhuhu

B.A.R.N.E.Y - My munchkin likes him! Yey!

Barney - a big-purple-friendly-dinosaur is such an influential character among children including my lil petite Lady Sophie. Almost every day she would say:

“Bunnie..Bunnie..I laf u.. U laf me”. (Take note on this funny part: she calls Barney: bun-neh)

She likes the video - the theme song video. It was all started when she followed me to office (before entered the school+day care). While at school, the teachers always play the Barney's DVD for them and luckily Sophie has a Barney doll too, which other kids usually spare for her! (~~Gosh, she still not mixing with other kids..whopss i shall put that in next entry~~)

Few years back I found Barney was such annoying- and I constantly tuned the channel when it was Barney time (well I wasn’t a kid hihihihi). But now- gotta change my perception because my daughter loves him!

Ironically, Barney is a T-Rex - the fiercest and the most feared kind of dinosaur but they have turned him into masterpiece series – which children all over the world love him! Magic! I guess it has something to do with the catchy songs, the dances move, and the children that play with Barney. Furthermore, it becomes more interesting when BJ, Riffs and Baby Bop are around. Oh! Now I learn something: don’t judge the book by its cover and don’t judge Barney by its character! Haha..

What makes me super happy when she adores Barney? Yeahhhh…she is now gradually lacking at this part - watching the Opomen aka Tamen aka Ultraman..hihihi

So…next shopping mission: Barnie DVDs? We’ll see..

Pneumococcal Vaccination ~ Have you protect your child?

We really regret for being such ignorant parents for the first year of our marriage. Perhaps we were

too young and restless? (check)
not being quite informative? (check)
not well prepared about knowledge that parents should have? (check)
maybe too lazy to take note about baby immunisation? (check)
stingy..opss..hell no (uncheck..hihihi)

Half of Sophie’s immunisation schedule, we brought her to private clinics as we were following schedule provided by Pusrawi, until one day my friend advised me to take jabs at government clinic. So last March, it was her final jab following national immunisation schedule. By completing the phase, we thought our responsibility already fulfilled!

We have heard few friends send their kids for alternate immunisation, which are not offered in Government hospital. But they are lucky to have company benefits to spurt money for such jabs. But us? None. Although I thought Sophie needs that, money constraint had put us in big dilemma.

One day I consulted a doctor in Mediveron clinic about these optional vaccinations (how stupid I was, he is not a paeditrician kannn? ). Well the doctor said, looking at Sophie, perhaps she doesn’t need those jabs as she is not raised in nursery, not having any illnesses so far. Just like idiots did, we simply followed his words.

However, I seriously think of extra vaccination for my munchkin since half of her day, she spends at school+daycare at where she is dangerously exposed to infectious diseases. Serius kesian and takut if anything happens to Sophie. That’s scary! Prevention is better than cure! ~~(motip nak guna ayat ini tapi tidak tahu buat ayat yang cantik..ah lantaklah!~~)

Therefore, I made some research and read about this alternative vaccination~ pneumococcal. (Rota Virus vaccination is for baby below 1 year, so luckily no need and fortunately she never had once)

Pneumococcal

Pneumococcal infection can cause ear infection, sinus infection, pneumonia, blood infection (bacteremia), and meningitis (infection of the covering of the brain). The common non-invasive conditions include otitis media, sinusitis and bronchitis. Furthermore, getting pneumococcal vaccination is one of the defense mechanism we could use to protect our kids against H1N1. Pneumococcal vaccination is a method of preventing a specific type of lung infection (pneumonia) that is caused by Pneumococcus bacterium. There are currently two PCV available on the global market: Prevnar (called Prevenar in some countries) and Synflorix.

Prevner (or Preverner): it is manufactured by Wyeth and contains seven serotypes of protein-conjugated pneumococcus. Vaccination with Prevnar is recommended for all children younger than 2 years, and for unvaccinated children between 24 and 59 months old who are at high risk for pneumococcal infections.

Synflorix: a product by GSK, still new in market and usually given to a baby in six weeks age up to two years old. It contains ten serotypes of protein-conjugated pneumococcus which seven already contained in Prevnar and added with 3 more new conjugated valents to fight against new invasive pneumococcal diseases.

Is my explanation sounds very scientific? Ok in easy words, let say you want to have pneumococcal injection for your baby, please ensure it is Synflorix instead of Prevnar, because Synflorix is the latest conjugated vaccine that has 3 additional benefits (more than Prevner) to fight any diseases caused by pneumococcus bacteria.. But still depending on your kids age. Consult your paed! Get it? Set that in ur mind. ;) ~~Anyway, if you are doctors or working in this field, please correct my explanation if it iswrong..;). I just write up to my comprehension level.~~

Wednesday night, accompanied by kak weng, we went to Klinik Pakar kanak Kanak Junina, Mutiara Damansara ( I love staying in Kota Damansara, it is near to every where I need to go!) and met the famous Dr. Yong Junina. During consultation, she said Sophie needs two shots, as she is below 2 years old. Finally Sophie had one, and the next booster will be given in July 24th. Talking about Dr. Yong Junina - i couldn't believe she is 40 plus. Why her face is looking very youthful? Working with children, perhaps? hehee..anyway i must say -a very great paed she is! Highly recommended!

After the jab I felt - wah, relief sangat! One shot cost us about RM 250 ~ but never mind, our Sophie is the most important "thing" of all.

Sophie’s First Day at School + Day Care

Why we had to find a new place for Sophie instead of sending her to MamaZilla’s house? Ermm.. it’s quite sad because MamaZilla’s eldest son is suffering pneumonia and has benign lump in liver and his condition is quite critical. Almost a month we’d been looking after Sophie during MamaZilla’s absences while she is taking care of her sick son in HKL.

At the first 2 weeks, me, babah and in laws, had been rotating guarding Sophie and I had also brought her to my office for several times. I’m very thankful to have such a very understanding superior that comprehends my difficulty. However it’s just not right to do so because, Sophie is a small kid, and she makes noise everywhere, cranky and I couldn’t pay attention at work.

Furthermore, we had to find a new place since MamaZilla couldn’t promise when she would be available again. Yes, pity her.. If I’m a mother I would prioritise my child in any uneasy circumstances and in this condition we have to move on – find a new routine for our kid. To be true, we’d been stress over the decision to send Sophie to a daycare but we have no other choice!

Last week, I took half day on Wednesday and babah not working as well. We went touring around Kota Damansara to search for the most suitable school+day care for Sophie. After visited 5 -6 school+daycare.. we finally chose this kindie (the school name has to be concealed due to safety and privacy issue) . The monthly fee quite affordable, all halal food prepared for the kids, neat, cozy and loving environment, and the main language used is English ~ just perfect for our little princess.

So today is Sophie’s first day at school…Let’s check her pictures…;)

Her First Day at school: Chronologies

9.00: Sophie woke up and went for bath

9.30: Mama and Babah prepared all necessities. Sophie was ready in her dress and hold her Sheshe cat.

10.00: Babah drove to the school. In the car, mama took few pictures of Sophie’s face expressions – Her first day to school. We talked to Sophie and told her that “you are going to a school and will make friends with others”. Mama advised her not to cry and be a good girl.

10.15: Arrived at school and doing some registrations. A teacher brought her upstairs and she was introduced to some friendly children. (Yes they are very friendly!). They started playing together.

10.30: Mama and Babah slowly began walking downstairs. Heard Sophie cried when she realized we were not around her anymore. Sedih sangat time nih..serius sedih!

10.55: Mama went upstairs again, hugged Sophie and told her not to cry. Mama whispered to her ears ~ “you are always a good and brave girl”. Told her that mama going to work and will fetch her around 5.30 pm. Again mama snapped her pictures with new friends.

11.00: We went out from the kindie, and heard Sophie cried again..but the teacher said she would be okay soon. We drove back home.

Well, mmg tak sampai hati bila dengar anak menangis..but we had to train her being away, not accompanied by any family member once she’s in school. Kalau asyik tunggu jer, no point-lah sending her to a school kan?

Wahh..tak sabar nak balik kerja and fetch Sophie…another 3 hours more!

Sophie has a list of best friends: Alya, Sara, Zara, Naufal, Adeef, Ibrahim, Kak Err , Fahim, Elfy, Adam , Aqil…and she can remembers most of her friends names.

Recently, quite numerous times Sophie says …

“Mama, Alif nanges..”
“Alif gi skulah“
“Alif sleep“
“Alif pooping“
“Alif blah blah blah…“

I and babah were first thought; maybe Alif is Adeef - Aju’s son, whom Sophie had recently played his Ultraman toys with. And perhaps the way she said Adeef as Alif ~ sebab kanak kanak kan besanya pelat …

To my surprise, when I showed her Adeef pictures two days ago, she was not saying Adeef as Alif, instead she said Adeef.. I have checked and identified all people around, so far no one from any of people we know about, has ‘Alif’ in their family…

uhuhuu..seramnya mak raser! Is she still ongoing plays with her imaginary friend? Then who is Alif? ??

What Is Your Baby’s Pet Name?

Hi...I'm Ompi~la

In my family, each of us has a pet name, using widely only among our family members but not for friends or relatives or for any formalities. My name is Yusmaaniza (~~watch the DOUBLE A in the middle carfefully~ I have to highlight this since people keep saying my name as Yusmaniza~~)..my pet name is Ima, but my sibling sometimes call me Rukimah, Semah and Ruskima..ahahah…(~~so Java kan~~)…ni keje my bros and sis laaaa..and I have pet names for each of them too.

My sister: kak syida is called Kak Bedah
My sister Yuslina: Rukienah, Senah. This is so funny. Babah first thought her real name is Rukienah..
My youngest sister: Yusazlinda, we called her Rokadik..sudik..Rosalinda aiyamor…hahahah

However, the most and the crappiest pet names were given to my youngest brother, Muhammad Firdaus aka Pedong @ sukabang @ romedongdicaprio @ rukabang @ subang @pidot @supirdong... . If I’m not mistaken he has about 100 pet names, which most of them were created by ME. Ahahaha. We even celebrated “Perayaan ke 100 nama nama samaran Firdaus”, when we finalized his last pet names. Can you imagine how angry he was…hahahaha … I love you bro ;)

The craze is still subsisting, since my family in law also happens to be just like us. However they use the pet names as an everyday called name. Subsequently I have to added more nick names in my family list,

Kilang (Kak Lang), Atok ( Restu) , Weng-weng (Zakiah) , Pam-pam (Halifah), Pedot (Mirwan), Konden Upau (Syariffudin). In fact, Babah also had few nick names when he was small : Burai (burung murai -he spoke a lot), Boy, Tambulai, and Kid…

Then…when Sophie arrived..She has these names…hahaha

*Sobs*…*Sobs*…It was Mother’s day on 9 May 2010, but Babah was not around as he was in Sandakan. Therefore, I made an appointment to meet up my another lil angies, Zara Iris Delisha and Mummy Myra. Remember we went to her Birthday Party last year and it was so enjoyable. Read the entry here

So, we planned to meet up at Megamall, Mid Valley kononnya ingin bersama-sama melawat booth parenthood in the Mom and Baby Expo. Haha..The exhibition was extremely crowded, and I was incapable to handle Ompi alone even though she was sitting in her stroller. She wanted this, wanted that and I got to moving back and forth just to find a balloon for her! We were very unfortunate as there was no more!

Once mummy and Zara arrived, we headed to Secret Recipe and had lunch together. Our princesses were also busily eating their foods while they trying to interact with each other using alienated languages-which only both of them knew.. Hahaha…Me and Myra couldn’t stop laughing when both of them giving response from one to another…So funny! Perhaps their conversation was about - let’s make friend ya? Mummy Myra, thanks so much for the treats…we owe you a happy lunch ya?

After meals, we went out for a walk in Toys R Us ~ window shopping and at the same gave them some experience ~ hanging out together. In that toys shop, both of them took a baby stroller and put their belongings in it and pushed the buggy themselves. Haha..When Zara was almost far from us, Sophie would shout “ Zadaaaaaaaaaa..Zadaaaaa (she pelat R)” as a sign “do-not-go-too- far-or-you’ll–lost”. Same happened when Sophie ran towards other toys, Zara would come in front of her and took Ompi’s hands back to the stroller…Hahahahaah…again we couldn’t stop laughing!

What is a story without pictures, right? Come and see the picasa…

Absolutely, it was a very precious moment that we could spend time together, with our darlings princesses...It was also a mothers' day gift to us - having to see our babies happier and enjoy making friends.

Happy 63th Birthday to My beautiful Mother~ Mak I love U...

My mom was born 11 May 1947, so today is her 63th Birthday. I have called her to wish her birthday, and she thanked me for that. I miss u mom..

Some said, I resemble my mom's look and only 2 of us, are the chubbiest in the skinny family. My mom is fat, because she has high blood pressure but not diabetic. Well, i remember when i talked to her that, I hate being chubby and she said "Well, there must be one chubby person in the family, The most pretty, the most brilliant, and you must be thankful for that. You have completed our family"...Did she meant, I got all the characteristics?..ahaha..

Anyway, I was chubby since standard six, after stop playing sport, and gaining superfluous weight during SPM time (makan nasik kawah asrama) BUT, I was ‘slim and slander’ gituu when I was in university. BUT THEN AGAIN chubby after giving birth..sighhhhhhhhh..!

Okies, stop the crappy nuts thingy about ‘chubby’. Mainly to post about my mom ~ I miss u Mak..What is so superb about my mum is her cooking! The most delicious cooking in the world!

Happy Birthday Mak..And I shall bring a pressie for you end of this month. Balik kampung, yey!

A visit to Aquaria KLCC

Last 2 weeks we went to KLCC, since Sophie never been there. As a Malaysian, born in KL, we thought it is a compulsory trip for Sophie to step in this Malaysian famous must see-attraction. Hiks..not relevant. Other than visiting the KLCC, we went for shopping and tingok ikan in Aquaria- an ocean discovery!

We never thought the tickets price could be so expensive - we spent RM 70 to enter the showroom (orrr should i say aquarium?) perghhh!

Sophie, who is an animal lover and usually happy looking at these creatures, had frantically terrified of those amphibians and reptiles! She couldn’t even let our hands free and clinging like a kangaroo baby in its mother pouch! Haha…why so serious?

The touching words… “Teng Ku Mama” … “Soli Mama”

BIG SMILE! That is always happens when we suddenly remember our little petite words. However, teaching on how to talk only might not enough as kids require more than that. Perhaps we can teach how to ask when she needs something, what she would say when she did wrong or how to show a thought of appreciation. Definitely, we have to be concerned about whether our child will be able to be gracious and polite when she meets 'people out there'.

Sophie is 1 year and 8 months!

From the time she has mastering the language skills, Sophie would talk every day ~ some times trying to recall what she did, where she went to, how she did this and that thing, who is the person and the Wh- question list goes on…

Seeing this important value, we have taught Sophie how to say thanks and sorry under right circumstances. However as usual Sophie won't show her interest to follow our words on the dot, because she is a girl with 'surprise'! She chewed all lesson depending on her mood: if she is okay, she does, if not she just continues playing.

I remember the uneasy moment to gain her attention when I first showed her the body parts book. To make the sample easily seen, I had repeatedly touched my hair and said "hair" "hair" … "Hair". She was just ignoring my words and did something else. Sangat geram! When I almost gave up, and were about the scold her (because she purposely spilled her Ribena drinks on the floor) she ran towards me immediately and said "hair" while showing her hair. Wow, she was actually listened to my 'class' but pretended like she was not! Same goes to some other words such as "fire", "friends" and few more….

Back to the 'thanks' and 'sorry' ~ Children copy what parents do! As such, to reinforce this habit and grasp her understanding, we always say "Thank you, Sophie" when she gives a helping hand and "Sorry, Sophie" when we angry/or gently hit her hands (~~sangat cheeky kan, mestila pukul sket~~).

As a result, last week, it was so suddenly she said "Teng ku mama" when I prepared her susu. She said that many times, like a song rhyme… " teng ku mama… teng ku mama… teng ku mama". I was so surprised! Proud! And the way she said was so touching! The next day, she said "Soli mama" when I gently scold her (she threw her Opomen (~~aka Tamen, hehe the pronunciation has been upgraded~~) to me). The time she said sorry - I felt so much confidence in my "mothering' skill …BLISSFUL ...Yes, that's the word!

I have this idea; it's never too early to teach our children about manners! I always belief, inner beauty will shine through physical appearance. (Though I'm not perfect, but at least give a try to be one). Children make us better people because they mirror the way we act.

The next thing I am going to do is to train her say: EXCUSE ME!

She loves Ultraman ….is that ok??

We can give extra mark to Sophie if we were given a paper to check her growth milestone especially on grooming part, since she has splendid taste. But when it comes to her current obsession, is that okay if she loves Ultraman more than Barbie dolls - despite of her girlish appearance?

Her interest started growing when she meets Naufal (my nephew) who happens to adore Ultraman too. Ahh, as far as I can recall, she also showed much fondness towards Ultraman after we visited Aju and her newborn baby Emir. Adeef, the eldest son is also a hard fan, and during the visit, he took out his Ultraman toys and demonstrated various acrobatic actions – like the ways Ultraman does this and that. Haha, so cute! Anyway, both Naufal and Adeef are boys and that is fine. But Sophie…she is a girl….!

We knew that she’s been longing to own an Ultraman, but we just ignored her request and as an alternative we bought her some other toys. What level is her keenness towards this toy??

She rather stays up until 12.30pm (but before that she takes nap around 8 pm to 11 pm) just to watch Ultraman , Channel Ceria Astro. She would request it by saying “Tamen mama Tamen mama..ceriaa..nah memot (remote)” ~ so there’s no other way around to discontinue .

She watches Ultraman action full with amazement as much as she does for pretty shoes!

She searches for Ultraman, Transformers, Spiderman if we go to kids department and throwing tantrum straightaway if we refused to purchase those boyish toys.

She runs with hands straight at the back..pretended to be an ultra~~man~~girl..Sometimes, move her hands in fighting motion and says 'fa-re' (fire, pronunciation: fah-re..fah re)

All this while we have this thought - girls should play girls thing and vice versa. Gender appropriate toys are extremely our main concern! I’m afraid if this interest continues (as she is showing further admiration towards Transformers and Spiderman) what would be her? A tomboy! NOOOOOOOOOO…I’m very worried with such transition if it really happens.

Finally, last weekend we'd been defeated! She won! Yes she won after screaming loudly in the crowd

“Tamennnnnn..Tamennnn..Tamennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn”

...while we were at Up Town Kota Damansara.. ~~Tidak sampai hati betul!~~

Babah said “ Belikan jelah RM 10 sajok pon..”. When I cut out the wrapper, the first thing she did was hugged and kissed the Ultraman. My goodness, we couldn’t believe our eyes she would act like that. It was the sweetest thing ever! Same as she did to her Sheshe cat and Aoo. She loves it! Now she has a very precious collection: Mr. Aoo, Sheshe Cat and Tamen - must bring these stuffs to MamaZilla house!

Perhaps, we just might be stifling our daughter's willingness to explore and learn by trying new things. I'm still doubtful though, ..erkkk is that okay??
